SAMPLE SCENE 2

I got the old TV for free from Facebook market place and proceeded to experiment with the screen. The first problem were the static lines you would get from filming the TV screen so I opted for using a green screen. 

Using the Keyer green screen effect on FinalCutPro I was able to insert an image on to the TV screen. I also used colourful lighting, especially the bright pink, which is one of the genre conventions of dark pop. 

What I learned:

- The green screening needs to be worked on further, work on created a smoother edge of the green screen

- The colouring worked really well, especially the contrast of pink and blue

- need to think of ways to weave this into the narrative

I took inspiration from Olivia's music video for her break out song Driver's license, as it would be a good intertextual reference to include:

In my sample scenes, I included elements of direct gaze and lip-syncing. 

What I learned:

- There are a lot of interesting shots we can do around the car, we can also have our performer inside the trunk. This would link to our narrative idea of good girl gone bad, getting rid of her past self. 

-Better to shoot in an enclosed space to control light

-Use monopod for a more controlled shot

- You need A LOT of artificial light when filming in darkness
